| Prey Demo - File Description |
 |
Description: This demo contains the first five levels of the single-player campaign along with a pair of deathmatch maps.
Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation going nowhere. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and eventually his planet.
In Prey, players enter a living spaceship that enslaves alien races and devours humans for lunch. Prey turns the first-person-shooter genre upside-down with new gameplay features like wall-walking and gravity flipping, making for intense single- and multiplayer experiences. Prey is built on a heavily modified version of Doom 3 engine and is developed by Human Head Studios under the direction of 3D Realms.

Pretty long for a demo, and for that reason it's damned good.
Looks beautiful, plays nicely and manages to show off all those great features like variable gravity and portals.
Well worth the download.
I'm definately getting the full version, even though the wall walking made me nauseous!
This is a great demo. Very nice, and a great selection of weapons and enough eye candy to keep you coming back.
Yep, very nice demo
i just played that demo and: the story is horrible and totaly unrealistic with holes as big as the gates this guy has to get through, the blood spilling and punishment of victims is without reason and cheap and the gameplay and graphics is state of the art of 2001.
this is far from being an intelligent and challenging shooter - tihs demo just convinces me not to get the game at all. hasnt deserved the high rating.
This demo turns me up, side, down you know The Doom 3 engine is used very well, the surround sound is great and the story line with all the action is fantastic. I'm gonna buy the full version for sure
holy crap.... the first five levels of the (third) best PC game..... in my hands........ Computer. First five levels in my computer.... And Tommy is doing the noble thing to put his girlfriend in front of the rest of the world.
- @ #6- I don't recall Doom 3 coming out in 2001 >_>
The demo is awsome and I'm gonna get the game when it comes out .
I have to run everything on low settings though...My pc isn't that good.
I downloaded it and when I try to play it it says error and has to shut down WHAT GIVES D***IT.
Doom3 was released in August 2004, not 2001
prey, after much engine modding, was released in 2006.
i would advise, so that you get your "state of the art" graphics, that you check out several of the amazing mods such as Brilliant Hilights and similar. other than that, the only reason it doesnt look great would be because of your system, i'd advise simply turning the graphics up until you lagg completly, then taking them down a tiny bit to get the best you can at an affordabe frame rate. it looks pretty
